So you have some questions about Memory Machine?

I don’t blame you… the whole thing is pretty vague. So to help I collected and quantified all the of the data and painstakingly identified the nine most common questions:

1. What is Memory Machine exactly?

Good question. Memory Machine is actually just me, Tyler Jackson.

2. Who are you and what do you do?

Actually, I’ll be honest… no one ever asks that. But I will take the opportunity to do a little self-promotion. I am a freelance artist, animator, designer, illustrator and art director.

3. I am interested in your rate and availability?

Awesome! Please feel free to email me at tyler@memorymachinecreative.com and I will happily share any information you need.

4. Where are you located?

Honestly, answering this question seems like an invitation for stalking but I’ll tell you anyways… I am located in Raleigh, North Carolina. I live in a house that I share with three children, no dogs, no cats, a 1975 Honda motorcycle that I sometimes fall off of and the ghosts of countless dead dreams and aspirations.

5. You are just one person… what size projects can you handle?

True… but I have been doing this for quite a while now. This means I know a lot of other people. It may not surprise you to find out that many of these people are smarter and more talented than I am. I know animators and editors and writers and musicians and composers and directors and project managers. Thanks to this wealth of resources I can assemble a team capable of handling projects of any size.

6. Where did the name Memory Machine come from?

I can tell you one thing… it certainly did not come from this Dismemberment Plan song of the same name. Honestly, the name actually came from my favorite book, One Hundred Years of Solitude. Thank you, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, R.I.P.

7. Why is there so much different stuff on this site?

First, don’t try to hoard-shame me. In truth I really like making a lot of different things and the internet seems to be a good place to store and display any and all work.

8. Your art is just sad and lame.

That’s not technically a question but I’ll answer anyways. I apologize… I am sorry that my art is lame. Sadly, I actually attended college and let me tell you art school is not cheap so you can undoubtedly understand when I say the person I am most disappointed in is myself.

9. Can I have something for free?

Hey, if you made it this far you certainly deserve something. Email me and I will be happy to send you a solid piece of Memory Machine merchandise. It could be almost anything… stickers, a button, original artwork or maybe even a box of kittens. Be warned: the suspense could kill you*.

*Disclaimer: I have consulted a personal injury lawyer named Karl and he assured me I am not liable if you actually die of suspense.
